80% MIL-SPEC PATTERN AR-15 & DPMS PATTERN AR-308 LOWER RECEIVERS
Anodized Mil-Spec Black
For less than the cost of a billet lower receiver at the local gun store you will receive what every person that has held these units in their hands say “nicest piece I’ve ever seen”. This is months of engineering and proofing to get exactly what was needed. As an avid AR-15 and AR-308 owner I was looking for the right combination of strength & style.
Available are parts that have been prepped & anodized for a close match to sheen & texture of leading manufacturers of upper receivers & handguards. Prep & Anodization completed by AMF, Northern Claifornia’s largest metal plating company which performs plating for large companies as US Ordnance among others. Anodization is certified Mil-Spec Type III. In our Shopping Cart these are labeled MIL-SPEC ANODIZED AR-15 80% LOWER – Excellent Commercial Match Finish -or- DPMS PATTERN AR-308 80% LOWER – Excellent Commercial Match Finish
Regarding the trigger guard, we have one of the largest openings (if not the largest) sold on the market today. Very clean lines and appealing look. ZERO tooling steps. Functional opening for even the largest winter gloved hands.
All exposed sidewall surface external corners are chamfered both internally and externally for easier cleaning and to minimize handling mars. Front mag well vertical corners are chamfered a bit more for a more comfortable grip. The part is smooth and easy to keep clean. Corners that are covered and/or typically not chamfered include the rear- bottom area of the buffer tube extension, top-front of the buffer tube extension, pivot pin bungs, and grip handle tang plus surrounding slab connection.
All critical dimensions, holes placement, and threading are mil-spec. Prior to anodization QC is checked using a lpk (lower parts kit) to make sure all lower parts fit as intended. An ATI buffer tube is threaded into place to ensure proper fit. Once anodized QC is again performed to ensure every part fits as intended. The final step is mag drop, an empty mag must fall free using it’s own weight without any encouragement. Every lower shipped out will be defect free. There are no identifying markings, logos, or text on these parts.
The bolster retainer for the bolt catch is threaded along with the takedown pin’s detent/spring hole. These screw threads & styles are the same as the industry standard by all the major manufacturers of registered billet lower receivers. On the Ar-15 lower both screws along with an allen key are included and installed, on the AR-308 the bolt catch screw is included with the lower parts kits.
Regarding only the Mil-Spec AR-15 80% Lower Receiver, we have found just about any brand lower parts kit (lpk) work great. We prefer to use the Palmetto State Armory lpk as we have found very few (if any) missing parts nor non-conforming items within the kits – plus we like the SS cap screw supplied for the grip handle installation.
Regarding only the DPMS Pattern AR-308 Lower Receiver, we have found the preferred lpk to be CMMG. Although the DPMS brand 308 lpk will work as intended, we have found the asthetic on the CMMG 308 lpk bolt catch looks better installed, plus the tongue on this bolt catch is wider and beefier providing a positive last-round hold-open even with problematic magazine followers.
Due to state & federal laws, these parts have no milling nor drillings for the fire control group, takedown pin lug, nor safety stem. Therefore the common understanding of current law is these parts are not considered a firearm nor need be sold through a licensed FFL dealer. Please check your State & local laws to confirm they are aligned with Federal law concerning 80% lower receivers prior to purchasing.
What the end purchaser produces with these aluminum parts is strictly their business and of no concern/liability of ours.
